Bearing And Foundation Insurance

This policy offers insurance against damage or destruction of the insured item due to:

• plant accident
• inaptitude, negligence or malicious intent by an employee or another person
• fall and impact of foreign object

A plant accident implies any event occurring unexpectedly and suddenly in relation to the use of the insured item.

This type of insurance can include a premium discount (bonus), or a premium surcharge (malus), depending on the technical result [a ratio between settled claim and technical premium charged] within the determined insurance period. Maximum discount/malus amount is 30%.

Unless otherwise stipulated by the contract, a standard deductible of 10% is borne by the insured in every loss occurrence. If a higher deductible is applied, the insured obtains a 30% discount.

The insured has the possibility of buying out the deductible, as well as the depreciated value in the case of partial loss [the value of property is not reduced by the the amount of depreciation at the moment of loss].

What can be insured?

• machinery, devices and installations, complete with the load, base, bearing and foundation
• installations - central heating, gas, fire protection, acoustic, signalling etc.
• large tools, lines, chains, ropes, etc.
• various electronic equipment, devices and low current machines
• other items as per Tariff and Terms and Conditions

In which situations are insured items covered?

• when assembled and ready for operation
• when in operation
• when leased or rented out, if operating under the conditions and serving the purpose for which they were designed and built
• when disassembled and re-assembled due to relocation or repair, as well as during repair, at the location where the the insured item is used or in the insured’s workshop, provided that the relocation or repair is carried out by the insured’s employees
• when transported for the purposes of testing, repair or relocation - but only within the boundaries of plant micro-location or up to 15 km outside the boundaries of micro-location

What are the additional covers?

• standard costs of earthworks, including asphalt-laying
• standard costs of fault or damage detection for underground cables and pipelines
